Externs will have opportunities to conduct initial intake evaluations and facilitate ongoing therapy/treatment. The extern will receive training in
Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) with opportunities to potentially become a PCIT-certified therapist. The extern may also gain exposure to
Applied Behavior Analysis-informed treatment, treatment for early childhood anxiety disorders and/or group-based social communication therapy based on interest and supervisor availability. In addition to formal in-person supervision, opportunities for didactics include case conferences with child psychiatrists and clinical social workers, psychiatry grand rounds and clinical seminars.
