Alix Aurelien, M.S., C.P.B., joined HSC Home Care in February 2020 as the health administration manager. Prior to HSC Home Care, Alix was the compliance specialist for Total Care Services, a nonprofit agency serving adults with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) in Washington, D.C., and Maryland. While at Total Care Services, Alix assisted in implementing and strengthening the agency’s processes which led to a near perfect record of delivering services. Alix has over eight years of experience working for organizations that support individuals with (I/DD) and has worked in a variety of capacities from program assistant to coordinator of community services.

In addition, Alix has more than five years of experience working in the healthcare/hospital setting. As a patient registration representative in the Emergency Department at Holy Cross Hospital, Alix was able to expand his knowledge and expertise in hospital regulations, registration system, health insurance and customer service.

Alix holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Salisbury University with French and Spanish minors. He received his Master of Science in Health Administration from Towson University where he focused his thesis on cholera prevention in Haiti among adults after the completion of a waterborne disease prevention program compared to adults who completed a standard cholera education program. Alix is a certified professional biller (CPB) and member of American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).

Abimbola Emmanuel, R.N., M.S., serves as chief operating officer of HSC Home Care, LLC, and HSC Health & Residential Services. She is responsible for assessing, designing and maintaining the most effective management and viable structure for the organization. She is a dynamic and versatile leader who uses creative thinking and innovative ideas to solve complex issues while applying unique strategies to influence organizational growth.

She has over 19 years of experience in healthcare and telecommunications/corporate industry. Her experience includes sales, budgeting, referral/relationship building, program development and clinical informatics. Ms. Emmanuel is a Certified Registered Nurse of Infusion (CRNI), an internationally recognized certification that promotes safe infusion practices, and an advocate for improving client care. Her healthcare experience includes working in various areas like the ICU, critical care, medical-surgical, orthopedic, assisted living, skilled nursing facilities and community healthcare clinics.

She holds a master’s degree in clinical nursing leadership and a bachelor’s degree in information systems management from the University of Maryland.
