At Children's National Hospital, we understand the high demand for neurodevelopmental pediatric appointments. Across the country, there is a shortage of developmental pediatric specialists, while the number of children needing evaluations continues to grow.

To improve our scheduling process, the Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics team is temporarily pausing new patient appointment scheduling from March 1, 2025, to May 31, 2025.

This pause will allow our team to review existing referrals, ensure all necessary information is collected, and implement a new intake system to reduce wait times and better match patients with the right care.

We know delays can be frustrating, and we appreciate your patience as we work to improve the experience for our patients and families.
