Pediatric Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship

The Pediatric Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship at Children’s National Hospital is an ACGME-accredited one-year fellowship program that aims to train board-eligible physicians who will become certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Fellows work at hospitals and hospices serving children as well as adults, including at Children’s National with the PANDA team, MedStar Washington Hospital Center, The HSC Pediatric Center and local area hospices.

There is a recognized – but unmet – need in trained palliative care physicians, with few dedicated pediatric training programs in the country. The fellowship at Children’s National was first accredited by the ACGME in 2016. Our program offers a rich and diverse educational experience along with potential for collaborative research.
