About Us

The Account Management team is in charge of the centralized identity and access management platform used for granting, changing or terminating system access for staff.

The Business Applications team supports current applications and also develops new ones for business systems and clinical systems.

We liaison among departments and locations that share application resources to develop streamlined workflows for end users. Our team also provides guidance to clinical teams and Bear Institute teams on how implementing new technology may affect current clinical workflows, as well as assist with troubleshooting of existing technology.

The Desktop team works across a broad range of technologies and liaises across multiple areas of the business to support incidents, problems and requests. This team is responsible for answering IT requests via phone, email and tickets and explaining solutions in technical and non-technical terms.

The Enterprise Resource Planning team supports the financial, supply chain, grants, payroll and human resources business areas. Their solution expertise combined with industry workflow experience helps streamline processes across multiple software applications and business organizations with the goals of reducing cost, increasing efficiency and providing timely, accurate insights into the overall health of the organization.

The Innovations team focuses on innovation and developing the next and best health IT solution to improve the care of children. The Innovations team works on-site at Children's National, immersed in the care process to learn more about both clinicians' and patients' needs in order to create the best possible solutions. The Bear Institute Learning and Adoption team is responsible for onboarding and ongoing IT training and support. Some of the Learning team services include:

• Delivering instructor-led classes in many of our systems
• At-the-elbow coaching for providers to promote efficient use of the EHR
• Learning material development (job aids and eLearning videos)

The Bear Institute’s Network team is responsible for the full lifecycle management and operations of all data, voice and video networks for Children's National. This team is inclusive of the design and implementation of new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of the current networks.

The Project Management team develops and plans for technical roll-outs by managing timelines and resources to ensure successful delivery and real outcomes.

The IT Service Management (ITSM) team develops quality and process strategies to support the successful execution of key operations and monitoring activities required to ensure the stability, quality assurance, service delivery and reliability of critical systems related to the deployment of service standards and frameworks such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). The ITSM team further works to create a culture of continual improvement and works to ensure that all participants in service delivery understand that identifying opportunities for improvement is everyone’s responsibility.

The Security team is responsible for protecting the Children's National enterprise and keeping patient data secure. The Security team works diligently so that Children's National can achieve its mission securely.

The Technology team manages information security, technical operations, Children’s National wireless network and technical infrastructure.
