As part of an ongoing partnership, Children’s National Hospital cares for patients on the inpatient Pediatric Unit, as well as newborns in the Nursery and Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Mary Washington Hospital, which serves the Fredericksburg, VA, area. The Children’s National program consists of neonatologists and pediatric hospitalists, providing 24-hour coverage, consultations, assessments, and care to children and newborns. This partnership provides state-of-the-art care for sick newborns and children, connecting this location to pediatric subspecialty services at Children’s National and provides collaborative research opportunities between Mary Washington and Children’s National clinical research teams.
