Darren Klugman, M.D., serves as medical director of the Cardiac ICU at Children's National Hospital. He earned his medical degree at George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences. He completed both his pediatric residency and fellowship training in Pediatric Critical Care and Pediatric Cardiology at Children's National.

Dr. Klugman is a nationally recognized leader in patient safety. His clinical and research interests are focused on improving quality and safety as well as postoperative management in the cardiac intensive care unit. He is the secretary of the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society and serves on the board of directors.
