Oral Immunotherapy for Peanut Allergy in Children

Oral immunotherapy (OIT) for peanut allergy is when we expose patients to peanut starting at very low doses and slowly increase to a target peanut dose. The goal is to reduce symptoms of an allergic reaction in case the child accidentally eats peanut. Palforzia is the prescription peanut product that is used for OIT that is approved by the FDA.
