UAE Ministry of Health Undersecretary Receives Children's National Delegation

UAE MOH undersecretary
H.E. Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Health, met with a delegation from Children’s National to discuss current collaborations and explore future opportunities. The Ministry of Health recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Children’s National during its participation at the Arab Health Congress in Dubai in January 2016.

Dr. Olama explained that the meeting discussion was in line with the Ministry of Health’s strategy to strengthen global partnerships and learn about the latest medical technologies from prestigious and specialized global centers, in a bid to strengthen the competitiveness of Ministry of Health hospitals and improve healthcare quality for patients in the UAE.

This is part of a wider collaborative effort, in which Sheikh Zayed Institute researchers are working closely with Al Qassimi Hospital on clinical validation of two Sheikh Zayed Institute projects, mGene and StethAid. The delegation also discussed plans to expand clinical validation of these two projects to other Ministry of Health hospitals. Sheikh Zayed Institute and UAE researchers and clinicians will be gathering and analyzing clinical data to advance the projects, with a goal of eventually implementing these projects in the UAE. These projects are examples of the Sheikh Zayed Institute’s collaborative approach, partnering with healthcare experts in the UAE.
