Children’s National Home to More Than 50 Northern Virginia “Top Doctors”
February 01, 2016
Washington, DC – Northern Virginia Magazine has named 58 Children’s National Health System physicians to its list of 2016 “Top Doctors.” The physicians represent a number of specialties across Children’s National including nationally-ranked programs such as Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Hematology/Oncology, Neonatology, Neurology, and Orthopaedics. Eleven physicians on the list also practice with Pediatric Specialists of Virginia.
“Congratulations to the Children’s National physicians named to this elite list,” said Kurt Newman, MD, President and CEO of Children’s National. “This recognition is meaningful to us because it affirms both our physicians’ high level of expertise and our commitment to meeting the health needs of the children of Northern Virginia.”
Nominations for Northern Virginia Magazine’s Top Doctors listing are generated by a peer survey and panels from nine local hospitals in the Northern Virginia area. Each panel nominated the doctors based on internal evaluations, patient reviews, patient access, training, and quality of records.
Offering more than 50 pediatric specialty care programs and departments, Children’s National specialists provide care at Children’s National Sheikh Zayed Campus for Advanced Children’s Medicine, in 10 office locations across Northern Virginia, as well as a number of other outpatient centers and primary care clinics in the region. Children’s National is the only health system in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area dedicated exclusively to pediatric care and is ranked among the top 10 children’s hospitals nationally by U.S. News & World Report. It is also one of only five pediatric hospitals in the United States this year to achieve Magnet® designation, and the Leapfrog Group’s Top Hospital List along with U.S. News & World Report Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll.
