Children's National Health System Only Washington, DC, Hospital Named to Becker's Hospital Review 100 Great Hospitals in America

Washington, DC - Children’s National Health System was named to the 2016 Becker’s Hospital Review list of 100 Great Hospitals in America.

The list featured hospitals that are well known for quality, innovation and research, world-class patient care, and a dedication to their local communities.

"We are honored to be recognized alongside many of our colleagues from well-respected hospitals across the country," said Kurt Newman, MD, President and Chief Executive Officer of Children’s National. "This distinction is a testament to the hard work and dedication our teams bring to improving the lives of our patients every day."

The Becker’s editorial team chose hospitals like Children’s National based on their rankings and awards from other reputable sources including U.S. New & World Report, the Leapfrog Group, and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

This past year, Children's National was named a Leapfrog Group Top Hospital for its high-quality patient care and safety.

The health system also received Magnet® designation for a second time, a recognition reserved only for hospitals that demonstrate the highest standards of nursing and patient care delivery. Only seven percent of hospitals across the country achieve Magnet® status.

Children’s National also was ranked among the top 10 pediatric hospitals by U.S. News & World Report 2015-16. Additionally, the depth of research taking place at Children’s National has made it one of the nation's top funded pediatric institutions by the National Institutes of Health.

Becker's Hospital Review is a monthly publication providing business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems. The full list of "100 Great Hospitals in America" can be found here.
