Children's National Psychiatrist Discusses the Importance of Early Screening for Mental Health

The American Academy of Pediatrics recently issued a new report recommending early screening for behavioral and emotional issues in children and identifying current barriers to screening and how those can be overcome. Adelaide Robb, MD, Division Chief of Psychology and Behavioral Health, spoke to Medscape about why the recommendations are critical saying mental health disorders are actually more common than some disorders such as asthma, which pediatricians screen for more often.
