Community Support Opportunities

Boredom Buster Bags are individualized bags centered around bringing fun and distraction to patients in need. 

On our online wish list, we have an assortment of boredom-busting items including:

• Coloring Books
• Crayons
• Word Puzzles/Sudoku
• Rubix Cubes
• Fidget Toys
• Legos
• Model Magic

Outside volunteers can help by organizing fundraisers, collecting these fun items and taking the time to package them as a boredom buster bag.

Once bags are created, please mail donation to the Volunteer Services office or email Volunteer Services to schedule a drop-off.

Coloring packets consisting of a few coloring pages, crayons and even stickers, in a Ziploc bag are the perfect handout for patients. Deconstruct a coloring book or print from the Crayola website.

Once packets are created, please mail donation to the Volunteer Services office or email Volunteer Services to schedule a drop-off.

You can also create your own coloring sheets and send these as a PDF to Volunteer Services.

Make no-sew fleece blankets for our patients and families using the following steps:

1. Choose new fleece fabric
2. Line up two pieces of fabric and trim to the same size
3. Cut a 5-inch square out of each corner
4. Cut fringe on all four sides of the blanket. Cut through both layers of fabric at the same time. Fringe pieces should be a little wider than the width of your finger.
5. Put your blanket on a flat surface, line up the fringe pieces, and tie knots all around the blanket.
