Summer Just Got More Fun

Children's National is collaborating with Melwood on a summer camp program called Camp Accomplish. Camp Accomplish offers a consortium of residential (and day camps) for kids living with:

  • Autism
  • Epilepsy
  • Heart disease
  • Hemiplegia/cerebral palsy
  • Hydrocephalus
  • Neurofibromatosis
  • Sickle cell anemia
  • Tourette syndrome
  • Type 1 diabetes

Additional camps will be developed based on requests and needs. Ideas for new camps are always welcome.

Discover Camp Accomplish

    Each session serves campers living with a specific health condition, giving them the opportunity to:

    • Learn about their condition
    • Become effective partners in managing their own care
    • Connect in peer support groups
    • Forge lasting friendships with kids facing similar challenges
    • Gain confidence and build self-esteem

    In the future, family camps will also be available, giving parents and siblings the opportunity to join the fun while learning how to live well as a family.

    Camps are held at at Melwood’s beautiful 100+ acre facility in nearby Charles County, Maryland.
