Adolescent Medicine Fellow
Joseph Waters, M.D., is a Adolescent Medicine fellow at Children's National Hospital since July 2019. Born and raised in Selma, Alabama, he received a bachelor’s degree in nutrition science from Auburn University in 2011. He received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham (UAB) before graduating in 2019 from his pediatric residency training at Cohen Children’s Medical Center-Northwell Health in Long Island, NY. His clinical and research areas of interest include working to address social determinants of health and improve the lives of sexual and gender minority youth. He is also very interested in medical education and advocacy and has served in leadership roles within the AAP and SAHM to continue these passions.
