Adolescent Medicine fellows lead patient-centered rounds with the adolescent medicine attending as well as provide consultations to hospitalized adolescents on other services, including inpatient psychiatry. Admissions include specialized care for eating disorders, gynecologic disorders, substance use, and complex medical care co-management with surgical teams.

During this experience:

  • Fellows participate in:
    • Family meetings
    • Resident teaching
    • Case management and psychiatry rounds
    • Learner orientation and feedback sessions
  • Fellows do not have any outpatient clinical responsibilities during this time.
  • The number of inpatient weeks decreases each year 13 (first-year fellow), 12 (second-year), and 11 (third-year)
