Faculty and Staff

Anisha Abraham, M.D., M.P.H., is the acting chief of Adolescent Medicine and program director. As the program director, she is responsible for monitoring fellows for signs of stress and fatigue, including mental or emotional conditions inhibiting performance or learning, as well as guiding fellows’ scholarly pursuits and individual learning plans. She also precepts at Adolescent Medicine at Shaw Metro, is a provider for the Eating Disorders Clinic, and is an attending on the inpatient unit.

Brooke Bokor, M.D., M.P.H., is a preceptor at Shepherd Park and Shaw Metro, and an attending on the inpatient unit. She is also in charge of AMC QI projects and serves as director of medical education for residents and students. As such, she oversees all training issues and curriculum changes supervises fellows’ quality improvement projects and serves as a mentor on their community advocacy experience and research projects. 

Nailah Coleman, M.D., supervises Shaw Metro's Athlete’s Clinic, and is part of the Sports Medicine rotation.

Lawrence D'Angelo, M.D., M.P.H., is the director of the LGBTQ Youth Pride Clinic, and he co-leads our D.C. school-based health centers. He is a preceptor at the Shepherd Park and an attending on the inpatient unit. He is also the former division chief.

Erica Eisenman, Psy.D., supervises the Whole Bear Care Program and adolescent medicine in the elements of the mental health rotation.

Julie Faden-Shifrin, LICSW, LCSW-C, LCSW, is the Adolescent Medicine social worker and works with fellows on scholarly efforts related to ACEs, mental health and psychosocial screening. 

Patricia Kapunan, M.D., is a preceptor at Adolescent Medicine at Shaw Metro and an attending on the inpatient unit. She is the medical director of Montgomery County (Maryland) School-Based Health Centers.

Sharyn Malcolm, M.D., M.P.H., is preceptor for Shepherd Park and Shaw Metro and an attending on the inpatient unit. 

Kathy Woodward-Murray, M.D., is preceptor for Shaw Metro and an attending on the inpatient unit. She also supervises fellows in the areas of community pediatrics and adolescent gynecology/reproductive health. She co-leads our D.C. school-based health centers.
