The Growth Study, led by Neera Gupta, M.D., MAS, is an NIH-funded, Crohn's and Colitis Foundation-funded prospective multicenter longitudinal study. Dr. Gupta is collaborating with 14 investigators from 13 institutions around the country. This study is examining sex differences in statural growth impairment in pediatric Crohn’s disease. The goal of Part 2 of The Growth Study (current study) is to develop a sex-specific treatment approach for children with Crohn’s disease, which will represent a major paradigm shift in clinical practice, as the current treatment approach is the same in both males and females.
