About the LAUNCH Program
This 12– to 14–week paid summer internship includes a four-day orientation, additional clinical orientation to an assigned unit and the opportunity to work closely with a nurse manager, preceptor and supervisor. As a Leading the Advancement of Undergraduate Nurses at Children’s National (LAUNCH) Nurse Trainee, you will experience what it really is like to be a pediatric nurse and you will be able to complete all the tasks a certified nursing assistant may perform.
Application Process
For 2024, the program will have two start dates: May 13 and May 28, 2024.
We will accept applications for the 2024 LAUNCH Nurse Trainee Program from Monday, Nov. 6 through Monday, Dec. 4, 2023.
All applications should include:

- Resume: Be sure to outline clinical experience *
- Transcript (Official or unofficial) *
- Two letters of reference: One letter should be from clinical faculty *
* All requested documents must be attached to your official application. Emailed documents will not be accepted.
Selected candidates will then be invited to attend a virtual interview with a member of the Nurse Recruitment team. Interviews will be recorded and shared with unit leadership. The interviews will be held in January 2024. Final decisions and unit placements will be made by February 2024.
