What is the salary?
The 2014-2015 salary scale for fellows at Children’s National is as follows:
- Post-Graduate Year (PGY) 4: $64,106
- PGY 5: $67,933
- PGY 6: $72,030
- PGY 7: $76,357
- PGY 8: $80,933
- PGY 9: $85,779
- PGY 10: $90,938
What are the benefits?
Benefits for all Children’s National employees include health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, sick leave, disability insurance and back-up dependent child and elder care. A detailed summary of all benefits can be found in the Children’s National Benefits Guide (PDF) are reimbursed for expenses related to application for medical licensure in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. All registration and travel expenses are reimbursed for meetings and conferences at which the fellow has a paper accepted for podium presentation. The fellow is reimbursed for all reasonable expenses incurred related to travel and accommodations during the six weeks of international rotations. Additionally, travel and hotel expenses are reimbursed for the fellow to attend the ASCFS/ASMS Boot Camp: Essential Training for Craniofacial Fellows (PDF).
Who provides coverage for primary and attending level call?
All primary call is covered by the residents in Plastic Surgery, Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery. Upon successful acquisition of attending privileges at Children's National, the Plastic Surgery fellow provides coverage of attending level call for one weekend each month.
