At Children’s National, our Division of Pediatric Colorectal & Pelvic Reconstruction offers long-term, coordinated care from pediatric experts who specialize in colorectal disorders and urological and gynecological conditions. By offering a collaborative approach to care, we help maintain overall health in our patients from birth, through childhood and adolescence, and into adulthood.

On-going follow-up care, careful monitoring and addressing certain urologic and gynecologic issues that develop in children with ARM early on is key to reducing the risk of developing certain problems and conditions later in life.

These conditions include:

Kidney (Renal) Disease

Bladder Conditions

Urinary Incontinence

Testicular Problems in Boys

Male Sexual Function and Fertility

Gynecologic Problems in Females

Female Sexual Function and Fertility

Sexual Health and Contraception

Pregnancy in Women with ARM

Long-Term Prognosis, Gynecologic Health and Pelvic Organ Prolapse
