When Chip was born just three days after Christmas, his family was excited to welcome their new son into the world. But things immediately took a turn for the worse. Soon after birth Chip was diagnosed with transposition of the great arteries, he underwent a cardiac catheterization procedure and a couple days later open-heart surgery.
