About the Provider

Benjamin Martin, MD, grew up outside of Boston, Mass. He moved to the Washington, D.C., area to attend Georgetown University. He decided to continue his education at Georgetown by attending medical school and completing a residency in orthopaedic surgery there. After 13 years at Georgetown, Dr. Martin moved to Dallas for a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedic surgery and scoliosis at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. He joined Children's National Hospital in 2011.

Dr. Martin specializes in developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), acetabular dysplasia, Legg-Calve-Perthes, slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE), hip impingement, limb length difference, congenital short femur, adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, early onset scoliosis, cerebral palsy, clubfoot and more. He is a member of the International Perthes Study Group which is focused on improving the care of patients with Perthes disease. At Children's National, Dr. Martin is dedicated to improving care delivery through his various committee work and leadership roles.

Dr. Martin is married and has two young daughters.
