For Nursing School Faculty and Nursing Students
The Nursing Education and Professional Development (NEPD) department at Children’s National Hospital welcomes you. NEPD is the preeminent provider of pediatric healthcare education for nursing professionals and the healthcare workforce across the learning continuum. Our program supports clinical learning experiences for undergraduate clinical group and practicum student by providing robust learning opportunities in the practice based environment.
Important COVID-19 Information
Due to COVID-19, requests for clinical placement will follow the “Guidelines for Nursing Schools Safe Return to Practice-based Learning Environment (PDF)." This information will be updated on a regular basis.
Nursing Faculty and Nursing Students

Requests must be made electronically via the Undergraduate Clinical Groups Request Form.
Requests submitted past the request deadline will not be reviewed or approved for placement. Approval of requests may be limited due to location and safety measures. All requests must be made based on semester by the request deadline.Requests must not exceed five students per clinical group.
Deadlines
- May 1 - Fall
- October 1 - Winter/Spring
- March 1 - Summer

Requests submitted past the request deadline will not be reviewed or approved for placement. Approval of requests may be limited due to location/safety measures. All requests must be made based on semester by the request deadline.

Requests submitted past the request deadline will not be reviewed or approved for placement. Approval of requests may be limited due to location/safety measures. All requests must be made based on semester by the request deadline. Request deadlines must be submitted at least 45 days prior to anticipated start date.

There is no onsite parking for students. Shuttle service is available from the Columbia Heights Metro Station, Brookland Metro Station and Union Station. There is very limited on-street parking on Michigan Avenue between North Capital Street and the Shrine but this is not guaranteed. Street parking at meters is strongly discouraged.

Children's National Free Metro Shuttle Services
