Patient Care Technician
Works as a nursing assistant under the direction of an RN to performbasic care activities, assist staff, and direct patient flow.
- Formal CNA training; High school diploma/GED
- CNA Certification
1 year in healthcare
Ambulatory Patient Care Technician
Works as a nursing assistant in an ambulatory or emergency setting.
- Formal CNA or EMT training; High school diploma/GED
- BLS certification in DC; CNA license required in MD & VA
1 year in acute or ambulatory healthcare; Pediatric and phlebotomy experience preferred
Licensed Practical Nurse
Provides care under the direct supervision of an RN or physician.

Registered Nurse I
A highly supportive Nursing Residency program for new nursing grads with preceptorship and academic experiences.

Registered Nurse III – Telehealth Nursing
With at least two years of clinical experience, works as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide and plan patient care.

- Pediatric, telehealth, or ambulatory nursing certification preferred
5+ years RN experience
Acute Care / Critical Care Float Pool
Works across many different areas of the hospital and helps care forchildren with a diverse spectrum of illnesses. Earns an additional floatpool premium.
- Graduated from an approved nursing school; BSN preferred
- DC, VA, or MD RN license, depending on location
1 ½ years RN experience. Pediatric experience preferred
Research Nurse Coordinator
With expert understanding of the federal and institutional policies,coordinates research projects and documents research-related proceduresand outcomes. 
- Graduated from an approved nursing school; Completed all Human Subject Research Courses;
- BSN preferred 
- RN license in DC; CPR certification
3+ years clinical nursing in acute care;
5+ years of clinical research nursing coordinating clinical trials; Pediatrics experience preferred
Nurse Navigator
Coordinates specialty referrals from physicians and health carefacilities. Educates patients about their illness and planned treatment.Ensures continuity of care is maintained and service prioritized.

5+ years nursing experience; 1 year pediatric experience; 1 year of demonstrated nursing leadership 
Clinical Educator
Unit-based educator responsible for assessing the educational needs ofboth the unit’s staff and its patients. Develops, implements, andevaluates educational programs to fill those needs.

2+ years of related clinical nursing experience ; 1 year pediatric experience preferred  
Clinical Instructor
As a unit-based educator, supervises nursing students’ clinical rotations.
- BSN required

5+ years of nursing experience; Pediatric experience preferred
Practice Specialist
Supports staff development in a given specialty. As member of thedepartment's leadership team, participates in and is accountable forneeds assessment, strategic planning, process design, and goalattainment.

5+ years of nursing experience; 2+ years in specialty area
Shift Coordinator
As a permanent charge nurse, directs the activities of and/or participates as a member of the patient care team.

Nurse Manager
Helps plan, implement, manage, and evaluate the unit’s day to day, as well as long term, activities.

5-7 years related and progressive experience; 1 year supervisory experience
Clinical Manager
Functions as an outpatient nurse manager, overseeing both day-to-day and long-term management of the facility.

Administrative Manager
As a house-wide supervisor, works collaboratively with Admissions,multidisciplinary healthcare teams, and hospital leadership tofacilitate patient flow processes.

4-5 years of clinical experience; 1-2 years of demonstrated supervisory/management experience; Pediatric experience preferred; Emergency department experience highly desirable
Case Manager I
Also a utilization review manager. Coordinates long-term care forpatients. Ensures families have medications, supplies, and arrangementsready for their child’s discharge.
- BSN required
- RN license in DC
5+ years experience; 3+ years in clinical nursing; 1 year in utilization management with knowledge of utilization review criteria; Case management or specialty experience preferred
Case Manager I/II Hybrid
Coordinates long-term care for patients. Ensures families havemedications, supplies, and arrangements ready for their child’sdischarge.
- BSN required; MSN preferred
- RN license in DC
5+ years experience; 3+ years in pediatrics; Extensive experience in case/utilization management preferred;Experience in one or more of the following preferred: designated/pediatric specialty, program/project development, clinical pathways, or leadership experience
Case Manager II
Coordinates long-term care for patients. Ensures families havemedications, supplies, and arrangements ready for their child’sdischarge.
- Master’s degree in related field required; Case management certification preferred; Specialty area certification preferred
- RN license in DC
5+ years experience; 3+ years in pediatrics; Experience in one or more of the following preferred: case management, designated/pediatric specialty, program/project development, utilization management, critical pathways, and leadership
School Nurses
Provides care to K-12 students, particularly those with chronicconditions or complex needs. Promotes a healthy learning environment.
