Donna Anthony, MPH, appointed chief strategy officer for Children’s National Hospital
Children’s National Hospital has appointed Donna Anthony, MPH, as its new senior vice president and chief strategy officer. Prior to this, Anthony served as the vice president and chief of staff at Children's National, playing a critical role in managing executive priorities and driving progress on strategic and operational initiatives.
"Donna has consistently demonstrated strong leadership skills through engaging a broad range of stakeholders in decision-making processes," said Michelle Riley-Brown, MHA, FACHE, president and chief executive officer of Children’s National. "Her ability to drive progress and foster collaboration has been and will continue to be instrumental in our success."
In 2017, Anthony joined Children’s National through the HSC Health Care System, a subsidiary organization, where she led The HSC Pediatric Center and HSC Home Care. Since 2019, she has played a key role in the integration of HSC with Children’s National and has led several other special projects. Most recently she led a year-long strategy development process for the enterprise.
“Strategy is not just about good plans on paper, it’s about strong execution at the right time with the right people. I look forward to continuing collaboration with our teams, shaping the future of pediatric care and our organization," Anthony said. "Together, we’ll continue to build on our strong foundation to improve health outcomes for children in our community and across the globe.”
Before joining Children’s National, Anthony held several senior roles, including chief of staff for the Office of Specialized Instruction at D.C. Public Schools and assistant superintendent of health and wellness for the Office of the State Superintendent of Education. She is also a current member of the DC Maternal and Child Health Council and an inaugural member of the American Hospital Association Emerging Leaders cohort, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Emergency Health Services and a Master of Science in Public Health from George Washington University.
