This Enrichment Series webinar co-hosted by the Center of Translational Research and the End of Life and Palliative Care special interest group, will feature Lori Wiener, Ph.D., and Meaghann Weaver, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.A.P., as our guest lecturers.

Lori Wiener, Ph.D., is co-director of the Behavioral Science Core and Head of the Psychosocial Support and Research Program at the pediatric oncology branch of the National Cancer Institute. As both a clinician and behavioral scientist, Dr. Wiener has dedicated her career to the fields of oncology and pediatric HIV/AIDS.

Meaghann Weaver, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.A.P., currently serves as division chief of Pediatric Palliative Care in Omaha, Nebraska. She refers to the relationships, mentorship and research collaborations of the D.C. Children’s National Palliative Care special interest group as life-giving and synergistic across settings.

Dr. Wiener and her colleague Dr. Meaghann Weaver recently published a storybook, The Gift of Gerbert’s Feather. Through the perspective of a brave, dying gosling and his close community, this book was written to help children through the psychological and behavioral process of preparing for a natural end of life.
