About the Provider

Yael Smiley, MD, is a primary care pediatrician at Children’s National Hospital and an assistant professor of pediatrics at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She is the medical director of the Healthy Generations Program which provides comprehensive health care, case management and mental health services for teenage parents and their children. Dr. Smiley is the assistant program director for the Leadership in Advocacy, Under-resourced Communities and Health Equity (LAUnCH) track of the Children’s National Pediatric Residency Program and is an affiliate faculty member of the Child Health Advocacy Institute (CHAI). Dr. Smiley’s academic interests include adolescent health, community engagement and medical education.

She enjoys vegetarian cooking and spending time outdoors.
