Serene Habayeb, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist specializing in autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Dr. Habayeb conducts psychological and diagnostic evaluations and provides individual and group therapy to children with ASD. She also serves in the Community Mental Health CORE of the Children's National Hospital Child Health Advocacy Institute (CHAI) on projects related to ASD and early childhood mental health.
Dr. Habayeb's research interests focus on cultural issues and community integration of clinical services for individuals with ASD and their families.
Dr. Habayeb graduated from the University of Rochester with a B.S. in brain and cognitive sciences and a minor in psychology. She completed a post-baccalaureate fellowship in developmental social neuroscience at Emory University/Marcus Autism Center. Dr. Habayeb received her Ph.D. in child clinical psychology from the Catholic University of America. She completed both her clinical internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Children's National Hospital.
