Biography

Sam P. Gulino, M.D., is the director of Autopsy in the Division of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. He is a clinical associate professor of Pathology at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He is also on the staff of George Washington University Hospital where he teaches autopsy pathology to graduate trainees in the Department of Pathology. 

Dr. Gulino's professional interests are in the areas of cardiovascular pathology, particularly the diagnosis and prevention of sudden cardiac death, and child death investigation. He was a member of the committees convened by the CDC and NIH to establish the national Sudden Death in the Young Registry. He has lectured nationally and internationally on the topics of cardiovascular pathology, fatality prevention, child maltreatment and medicolegal death investigation.
