Rebecca Begtrup, D.O., M.P.H., is an attending psychiatrist at Children's National Hospital. She completed a triple board residency at Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, in general pediatrics, adult psychiatry and child/adolescent psychiatry, where she served as the chief resident for two years. Dr. Begtrup completed a fellowship in eating disorders psychiatry at the University of Maryland and Sheppard Pratt’s Center for Eating Disorders, 2012-2013. She then continued as an attending psychiatrist at the Center for Eating Disorders at Sheppard Pratt Health System through 2016 in both the inpatient and partial hospital settings. Dr. Begtrup then joined the outpatient psychiatry team at Children’s National and co-founded the Behavioral Health Feeding and Eating Disorders Program.
Dr. Begtrup lectures about eating disorders and body image to both health professionals and the general public. She enjoys working with this patient population for both therapeutic interventions and medication management, focusing on encouraging hope for a better future. She is board-certified in adult and child/adolescent psychiatry and currently treats patients from infancy through 18 years of age.
