Nathan Dean, M.D., is a pediatric critical care intensivist at Children's National Hospital with a clinical interest in neurocritical care. He is Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Dean is originally from Ohio, but grew up in Rockville, Md.; he came to Children's in 2007 from Saint Louis Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Dean has two children, a daughter and son, with a new son on the way. His hobbies include cooking and competitive swimming (Masters). Dr. Dean swam the 4.4 Chesapeake Bay Bridge Swim in 2007 and 2008, finishing sixth in his age group in 2008.
