Mikael Petrosyan, M.D., specializes in general pediatric and thoracic surgery with a special interest in advanced minimally invasive and endoscopic surgeries in infants, children, and adolescents for many pediatric surgical conditions. He attended the University of Southern California as an undergraduate and obtained his medical degree at Chicago Medical School. He completed his residency at LA County Hospital + University of Southern California. During his training, Dr. Petrosyan received numerous awards including intern of the year, numerous resident teaching awards and the most outstanding scholar award. He also completed a two-year Pediatric Surgery Research Fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles where he was awarded an Ethicon Scholarship from the Society of University Surgeons.
After completing his Pediatric Surgery Fellowship training at Children’s National Dr. Petrosyan stayed as a faculty member.
Dr. Petrosyan has specific interest and expertise in minimally invasive thoracic, gastrointestinal and neonatal surgery. His other interests include surgery for gastroesophageal reflux; chest wall deformities; and complex esophageal, intestinal, and oncological problems in children.
