J. Wesley "Wes" Diddle, M.D., graduated from University of Virginia and then proceeded to pursue medical school at University of Tennessee. Subsequently, he did pediatric residency at Seattle Children’s Hospital followed by fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Children’s Hospital of Boston/ Harvard University. After his fellowship in cardiology, Dr. Diddle trained for additional two years in critical care medicine at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Diddle has been interested in studying use of extracorporeal support in acute myocarditis, bedside hemodynamic monitoring, critical care echocardiography and effects of dexmedetomidine on low cardiac output syndrome.
He also has been very active in the arena of global health, having visited many resource poor nations to provide service and teaching.
