Elizabeth Kerris, M.D., is an attending physician in the Division of Critical Care Medicine at Children’s National Hospital and a research instructor in pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Science. Dr. Kerris completed medical school at the New York University School of Medicine in New York, NY followed by general pediatric residency and critical care fellowship at Children’s National in Washington, D.C. Dr. Kerris is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric critical care.

Dr. Kerris has in academic interest in blood clot formation in critical illness. Dr. Kerris is part of the Robert Freishtat laboratory in the Children’s National Research Institute Center for Genetic Medicine Research and is currently exploring the role of platelet-derived microRNAs in the formation of blood clots in sepsis.
