Blachy J. Dávila Saldaña, M.D., is a faculty member in the Division of Blood and Marrow Transplantation. He received his medical degrees from the University of Puerto Rico and completed residency in both internal medicine and pediatrics at Rush University in Chicago. Following his residency, he completed his pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University where he developed a specific expertise in caring for patients with immunodeficiency undergoing BMT. After fellowship training, Dr. Dávila Saldaña did an extra year of fellowship in clinical immunodeficiency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Center. His clinical and research interests are transplant approaches for HLH and immunodeficiency (for which he has a number of publications and national lectures). He also has an interest in long-term follow-up after BMT, given his medical and pediatrics background.
