Allison Markowsky, M.D., M.S.H.S., is an attending physician within the Hospital Medicine Division at Children’s National Hospital and holds an academic appointment as assistant professor of Pediatrics at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, D.C. She is the medical director of the Children’s National Pediatric Hospitalist Program at Mary Washington Healthcare in Fredericksburg and Stafford, VA. She is also co-chair of the AAP Section on Hospital Medicine Neonatal Hospitalist Subcommittee and co-editor of the AAP Quality Connections Newsletter.
Her primary interests include quality/process improvement, safety and education with a focus on newborn care and simulation education. Recent projects include work on neonatal abstinence syndrome, early onset sepsis and newborn education.
She lives in Stafford, VA with her husband and three children and enjoys spending outdoors and traveling.
