Biography

Aadil Kakajiwala, M.D., MSCI, is an attending physician in the Divisions of Pediatric Nephrology and Critical Care Medicine at Children’s National Hospital. He is also the director of Pediatric Acute Kidney Support Therapies. He joined the faculty in 2021 after completing his pediatric residency at Akron Children's Hospital, pediatric nephrology fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and pediatric critical care medicine fellowship at Children's National.

Dr. Kakajiwala has keen interest in early diagnosis and prevention of acute kidney injury (AKI), as well as various support therapies. He participates in quality improvement and is standardizing the approach to AKI management. He is the lead physician introducing infant dialysis therapies including aquapheresis.
