Biography

Lisa Ring, MSN, CPNP, AC-PC, is a pediatric nurse practitioner certified in both pediatric acute and primary care. Her current practice is with the Children’s National Heart Institute, specifically providing post-operative care on the Heart and Kidney Unit to those patients undergoing congenital heart surgery. She also has expertise in both wound and burn care.

She has a master’s degree in nursing from Duke University and is currently pursuing her doctorate. She has an interest in education and simulation. Lisa has been an adjunct associate professor for the acute care PNP program at a local university. She is a member of NAPNAP and the Northeast Pediatric Cardiology Nurses Association, and has previously served on the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board subcommittee for development of the first acute care PNP exam.

Lisa has earned multiple awards:

Lisa is a native of Cambridge, Mass., and has resided in Northern Virginia since joining Children’s National.
