June K. Amling, MSN, RN, CNS, CWON, CCRN, is an advanced practice nurse in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Children's National with a focus on wound and skin health. She has been at Children's National since 1989, with 35 years spent in the nursing field in total. June is credentialed as a medical provider and has a background in intensive care nursing. Her specialties include pressure injuries, wound dehiscence, ostomy and skin injuries.
June has held various roles focused as a practitioner/educator in the critical care areas in the earlier years and now house-wide. She initiated the Wound Program in 2006 which has expanded over the years. The program sees patients throughout the hospital and there is the Wound Outpatient Clinic once a week. In addition she received the Magnet Nurse of the Year award in 2015.
