Brenda Martin, CPNP-PC, contributes to the sickle cell community as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Research Coordinator to promote quality care through research. She received her undergraduate degree from Hunter College and her Masters in Nursing from Columbia University in New York City. As a clinician, she has provided comprehensive care to children with sickle cell disease and focuses on helping sickle cell children with chronic pain. She advocates for research participation to promote state of the art care. Brenda participated in several NIH grants: TWiTCH-Transfusions changing to Hydroxyurea, STOP - Stroke Prevention in Sickle Cell, Baby Hug- Hydroxyurea in very young children with sickle cell anemia and Neurodevelopmental Deficits among Infants with Sickle Cell Disease. Brenda has co-authored several publications and presented at numerous conferences on sickle cell disease.
