We will review recent, incremental and potential future, transformative advances in neonatal cardiac surgery. Advances in the management of neonates with hypoplastic left heart syndrome will be reviewed including the role of the right ventricle to pulmonary artery conduit and use of branch pulmonary artery banding. The power of collaborative learning with the potential for rapid dissemination of improvement strategies will be reviewed. Recent advances and research on anticoagulation for mechanical circulatory support will be reviewed. Finally, we will review the potential for regenerative therapy for patients with congenital heart disease.

- Describe the potential for collaborative learning to allow for rapid dissemination of improvement of care for neonates with complex congenital heart disease.
- Recognize how improved anticoagulation could allow for improved mechanical circulatory support and outcome of neonatal cardiac surgery.
