This presentation will discuss the national problem of overuse, provide transparency to frontline providers regarding the rising costs associated with caring for our patients here at Children's National, and demonstrate how modifying physician testing and prescribing practices can bend the value curve in a positive direction. We will walk through bronchiolitis as a national case example, highlighting Children's National's performance in various metrics associated with overuse for this illness. We will transition to a broad discussion of how Children's National is cutting costs and adding value on an administrative level, and we will end with a discussion of how frontline providers can directly add value through modifiable testing and prescribing practices.
