The First Lady reads “Oliver the Ornament," 2018

On December 13, First Lady Mrs. Trump visited patients, families and staff members at Children's National to spread holiday cheer. Joined by Santa, Mrs. Claus and two patient escorts, the First Lady read a Christmas story, "Oliver The Ornament," authored by Todd Zimmermann, who also sat by her side during the reading. The First Lady also toured the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This is the first time in almost 10 years that a First Lady has visited our NICU. The tradition of holiday visits from the First Lady dates back to Bess Truman.
