Abnormal neurogenesis and cortical growth in congenital heart disease

A research team led by Children’s National Hospital uses a preclinical model to demonstrate that SVZ NSPCs contribute to perinatal corticogenesis and to suggest that restoration of SVZ NSPCs’ neurogenic potential is a candidate therapeutic target for improving cortical growth in CHD. Children's researchers featured in the video include: Vittorio Gallo, Ph.D., Richard Jonas, M.D., Paul Morton, Ph.D. and Nobuyuki Ishibashi, M.D.
