Children’s National Named to Becker’s Hospital Review 100 Hospitals & Health Systems With Great Neurosurgery and Spine Programs
December 03, 2015
Washington, DC—Children’s National Health System has been named to the Becker’s Hospital Review 2015 edition of “100 Hospitals & Health Systems With Great Neurosurgery and Spine Programs.”
The list features hospitals and health systems known as national leaders in neurosciences providing treatment for patients with various brain and spine conditions.
“We are honored to be recognized alongside many of our colleagues from well-respected hospitals across the country,” said Robert Keating, MD, Chief of Neurosurgery at Children’s National. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work and innovation our teams bring to research and patient care every day. This type of comprehensive care, from the operating room to the bedside, wouldn’t be possible without quality nursing and the dedication of the entire staff.”
Becker’s Hospital Review selected hospitals for inclusion based on national rankings and awards including U.S. News & World Report rankings and Magnet® designation for nursing excellence.
This year, Children’s National was ranked number four in the nation for neurology and neurosurgery by U.S. News & World Report, marking the fifth year in a row the Divisions of Neurology and Neurosurgery have been ranked in the top 10.
Children’s National also was designated as a Magnet hospital this year for the second time, a recognition given to hospitals that demonstrate the highest standards of nursing and patient care delivery. Only seven percent of hospitals across the country achieve Magnet status.
Becker's Hospital Review is a monthly publication providing business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems. A version of this list has been published every year since 2012. The full list of “100 Hospitals & Health Systems With Great Neurosurgery and Spine Programs” can be found here.
