The Washington Business Journal Names Children’s National Chief of Staff Among Women Who Mean Business

Washington, DC – The Washington Business Journal named Michelle McGuire, MBA, Vice President and Chief of Staff at Children’s National Health System, as one of its 2015 Women Who Mean Business. Ms. McGuire was among 25 Washington, DC, area women who were honored at a reception last night for their perseverance, ability to break down barriers and adversity, leadership in their communities, and their ability to create and lead organizations.
At Children’s National, Ms. McGuire serves as an advisor to the President and CEO, Kurt Newman, MD. She provides strategic oversight, furthers alignment of organizational priorities, leads special projects, and partners with the leadership team in ensuring that Children’s National continues to deliver the highest quality care and healthier futures for all children.

She asks the right questions and brings the analytical thinking to ensure that our organization continues to improve pediatric care, research, advocacy, and education,” stated Dr. Newman.
A Washington, DC native, Ms. McGuire joined the Children’s National team in 2011 with extensive experience in providing business solutions to Fortune 50 companies. She spent the majority of her career at Deloitte Consulting in New York, where she led engagements in strategic business process improvement, implementation, and corporate governance. She brings impressive experience as a strategic advisor to C-suite executives to her role at Children’s National, and to her work supporting the CEO and his leadership team.
Ms. McGuire earned a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the New York University Stern School of Business and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Smith College.
