Pediatric Gynecology Program

Children's National Hospital is one of the only hospitals in the nation with a dedicated program for infants, children and teens with common and complex pediatric gynecologic care needs. Our expertise in gynecology and surgery allows our team to provide medical and surgical treatment for a range of conditions, which can be unique to childhood or persist into adulthood.

We know children and adolescents are still growing and their needs are different than adults. Our experts are trained to find the best solutions for their age and help them transition to adulthood.

Specialized Gynecology Services for Children and Teens

The Pediatric Gynecology Program coordinates care for individuals from age 0-21 with a range of surgical and non-surgical care needs. We provide the following services:

Expert Gynecology Care During the Transition into Adulthood

Our program is unique in our ability to monitor youth during their transition to adult care, thanks to a partnership between Children’s National and MedStar Washington Hospital Center. This continuity of care is possible because some of our team members care for patients at both hospitals into adulthood. This means that as an adult, your child has the option to see a physician who knows their medical history.

To schedule your child’s appointment or procedure with the Pediatric Gynecology Program, please call 1-888-884-BEAR (2327). Appointments can be scheduled for the first, third and fifth Monday of the month and Thursdays from 1-5 p.m.
