Orthodontics Program

Contact number | 202-476-2160

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that all children have an orthodontic evaluation by the age of 7. The earlier orthodontists can start a corrective treatment plan, the sooner a child can have a healthy, beautiful smile. Because we are pediatric specialists, our orthodontists know the best time to begin treatment, which can reduce the time your child needs to wear braces or other corrective devices.

The Orthodontics Program at Children's National Hospital is a comprehensive program for children. We provide a full range of orthodontic services using the most advanced materials and treatment techniques.

We can help your child with general alignment concerns, skeletal and structural problems, and other facial malformations. All of the hospital's dental specialists are available to patients for consultation and referral for associated services, including:

  • Pediatric Dentistry
  • Oral Surgery
  • Periodontics
  • Prosthodontics
  • Endodontics
  • Children's Specialists

You are an important member of your child's care team, and we work with you to develop a treatment plan that meets your child's unique needs.

Since we are located at Children's National, we are also able to consult with other specialists at the hospital to provide advanced care for children with disabilities and children with complex or difficult cases.

To expand access to affordable orthodontic services so that every child may have a healthy smile, the program's orthodontic residents provide care under the supervision of the hospital's highly qualified faculty.
