Child Life Specialists at Children's National Hospital are trained and certified to help children, adolescents and families with psychological and emotional support during outpatient and inpatient visits.

Creative and Therapeutic Arts Services help children transcend the hospital experience by bringing the cultural arts, arts education and animal visitation to patients at their bedside and in the Costco Wholesale Atrium.

Our Parent Navigator Program informs, educates, supports and empowers families to be strong partners with providers in advocating for child’s medical, educational and social well-being.

Clinically trained on-call chaplains are available to patients, families and staff 24/7 for support, education, ritual and consultation.

Our council seeks to improve patient- and family-centered care for all Children’s National Hospital families.

Our social workers are specially trained and licensed professionals who provide an array of psychosocial services to enhance the quality of care our patients and families receive.

Children’s National offers various support groups for families to exchange helpful information, provide solace to one another and offer tips to help in caring for their children.
